1. Make sure it’s fresh! Buy a freshly cut tree. 

2. Keep away from heat, log burner/open fire or radiator heat will soon dry the tree out. If it does go near a radiator please make sure it’s turned off.

3. Water, like a cut flower the tree will carry on lapping it up, up to a pint a day in some circumstances, choose a stand that holds lots of water.
